The mission of Garry L. McElfresh, founder of Rainbow Eagle Art, LLC, is to bring the best of the past to enhance the present by using memories to build the future. He accomplishes this by putting color to paper to create masterpieces that can become heirlooms to be passed on from generation to generation.
The illustrations of Mr. McElfresh are based on real-life subjects or images. Using his artistic license, he translates these into original artwork through pencil, ink pen or color chalk illustrations on paper. Through this technique, he preserves scenes from “A Day in the Life of a Soldier” and Americana that will rest forever in the recipients’ hearts and minds.
Mr. McElfresh grew up in Jay County, Indiana and is a graduate of Portland High School. After serving in the U. S. Military, he worked in various blue-collar jobs in east-central and northern Indiana. During this time, he invested more than 30 years in perfecting techniques for his portrait drawings and illustrations.
Mr. McElfresh moved to Fort Wayne in 1993 and studied art at
St. Francis University. For the past decade, he has focused his
efforts on creating his artwork and cultivating personal relationships,
which he believes are the keys to value, success and repeat business
for Rainbow Eagle Art, LLC.
“I want to honor people – honor people in professions and
vocations,” states Garry McElfresh in a 21 Live, WPTR TV interview.
He continues, “I’ve been told by soldiers, ‘When we get mail from
home, it’s like a blood transfusion.’” The artist understands that a
soldier’s life is not just about serving where needed, it’s also about
extending a hand of friendship, especially to children.
